Apex Motors design an electric sports car

Drive were approached by Apex Motors to support them design an electric sports car. Apex had the foundations of their vision in place – a clear design theme shown in a series of early concept sketches, a rough CAD volume model, and clarity around the aspirations of the end product : A fully EV, lightweight sports car with integrated Lidar for autonomous level 3 included for when legislation permits.

SHORT TIMESCALES

While Apex Motors had the vision and direction, they required our considerable expertise delivering digitally-led design processes. We used VR tools extensively to develop and refine the car in collaboration with Apex’s design director. Reviews in VR were used to shape and refine the design to help give value within their tight budget and timeline. This achieved a well resolved and refined exterior that stood up to the close scrutiny of the Geneva motor show and press photographs.
